I love seeing a beautiful dragonfly. They hover like small helocopters and the sun shines beautifully off of their bodies. I wanted to add a dragonfly to a coffee cup cozy for a fun little change of pace. When I started off, i just had a single line of single crochet for the body. The body of my dragonfly evolved though as I wanted to give him a bit of a detail. Not too much that he is hard to make. You can make it the way i did or with just a chain of 21 and one row of single crochet. He will still look like a dragonfly. I have noticed that dragonflies are beautiful with blues and greens. So, my pattern uses two shades of blue but you can pick green or whatever other colors that you want for the dragonfly body.
