Pumpkin Coffee Cup Cozy Pattern
Materials:
worsted weight yarn (look for the 4 on the label) in 2 colors
Color A = Orange
Color B = Green
Color C = White
Crochet hook size 5.00mm / H
Crochet hook size 4.00mm / G
Crochet hook size 3.75mm / F
Yarn needle and scissors
To check if you have the correct crochet hook for this pattern, here is a crochet hook conversion tool for you.
Stitches
mc = magic circle
ss = slip stitch; insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull
through the stitch and the loop.
sc = single crochet = insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over
and pull through the stitch, (you have 2 loops), yarn over and pull
through both
hdc – half double crochet – yarn over, insert your hook into the
stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop (you have 3 loops on your hook)
yarn over and pull through all three at once.
dc = double crochet; yarn over and insert your hook into the stitch,
yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through the first 2
loops, yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops.
Cup Cozy
With Color C:
Crochet hook size 5.00mm / H
Chain 31
Row 1: half double crochet in the second chain from the hook, hdc
across the row (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 2: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 3: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 4: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 5: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 6: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 7: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 8: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 9: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Row 10: hdc in every stitch across, (30) ch 1 and turn
Pumpkin
With Color A:
Crochet hook size 4.00mm / G
Make a Magic circle or adjustable circle (leave a long tail to attach
to the cup cozy later)
Round 1: Chain 3 in MC (counts as first dc), dc 11 in MC (12)
Round 2: DC x 2 in each stitch around (24)
Round 3: sc, dc x 2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x
2, ss,, dc x2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x 2, dc, dc x2, dc, sc,
ss
Stem
With Color B and hook size 3.75mm / F
Chain 5
Row 1: SC in each stitch (4)
Row 2: SC in each stitch (4)
Row 3: SC in each stitch (4)
Attach the stem to the pumpkin by slip stitching it to the top of the
pumpkin. (4 stitches) sc on the first stitch of the pumpkin by the
side of the stem.
Chain 13,
skip 1 stitch, remove your crochet hook and insert it from the back
of the pumpkin, sc, chain 7, skip 1 stitch, chain 5, remove your crochet
hook from the chain and insert it from the back of the pumpkin, sc.
tie off
Attach the pumpkin to the cup cozy with the tail of your pumpkin.
