Discover the Delights of a Herbology Bag

Mushroom Moon Herbology Bag

Don’t just stop and smell the roses, pick a few.  When you are out for a walk, take a little herbology bag with you, to place some wildflowers in.  You might even find a lovely rock to take home and cherish.  Or this could also be used as a little gift bag or a goodie bag for a mushroom party.  It’s big enough to fit your phone if you just want a little bag to carry around.

This would also make a cute little cottage core gift bag for someone special in your life. If I had some glow in the dark yarn, I would use that on the moon and the mushroom spots, just to give it that extra special touch.

Mushroom Moon Herbology Bag

Gauge

  • 11 stitches in 4 inches
  • 7 rows in 4 inches
  • Finished size 7 inches by 7.5 inches

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn any colors.  I used red heart super saver in white, red, brown, and cream.  This would also look great with a moon and mushroom dots in glow in the dark yarn.
  • 5.00 mm crochet hook
  • Hook conversion chart
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Stitches:

MC = Magic circle

SC = single crochet; insert your hook into the loop, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through both loops.

Hdc = half double crochet; yarn over and insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, (you have 3 loops on your hook- like a double crochet) yarn over and pull through all 3 at once.

DC = Double Crochet: yarn over and insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through the first 2 loops,  yarn over and  pull through the last 2 loops

ss = slip stitch; insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull through the stitch and the loop all at once

Dec = decrease; single crochet two stitches together. sc2tog, insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over pull up a loop, insert your stitch into the next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all three loops. This combines two stitches into one.
